
Dr. Christos Tsevas | Adjunct Lecturer in International Refugee Law and
International Human Rights Law at Democritus University of Thrace.
Dr. Christos Tsevas is Adjunct Lecturer in International Refugee Law and
International Human Rights Law at Democritus University of Thrace – Law Faculty,
Greece and Human Rights Officer (Legal Advisor) at the Greek National Commission
for Human Rights (GNCHR). Formerly, Christos held the positions of Project
Transition Analyst at the International Organization for Migration/UN Migration,
Associate Asylum Expert at the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees/International Catholic Migration Commission, and Legal Advisor at the
Greek Asylum Appeals Committees, designated by the GNCHR.
He has also served as Teaching Associate at the Faculty of Law of the National and
Kapodistrian University of Athens in International Human Rights Law and Artificial
Intelligence, as a Member of the Educational Staff in International and European Law
at the Hellenic Open University, Lecturer at the Greek National Center for Public
Administration and Local Government, Consultant at the International Institute of
Humanitarian Law for courses of the Department of International Refugee Law and
Migration Law and as Academic Coordinator of the Executive Course on Migration
for the European Public Law Organization (European Law & Governance School).
Christos holds a PhD in Human Rights Law (University of Strasbourg, Democritus
University of Thrace), an LL.M. in Specialized Public Law (Joint Master Program:
National & Kapodistrian University of Athens – NKUA/University of Bordeaux), an
LL.M. in Human Rights – Specialization: Humanitarian Affairs & International
Cooperation (University of Strasbourg), and an LL.B. in Law (NKUA).
He has teaching experience in Public International Law, International Human Rights
Law, International Refugee Law, EU Law and Policies, Constitutional Law, Institutions
and Policies of Human Rights Protection, Artificial Intelligence, Data Protection &
Open Data and he has published in these fields. Christos is an attorney-at-law with
expertise in international and European human rights, public, refugee, and migration
law.
